Electric motor 1AL-90S-8 is an 8-pole three-phase asynchronous motor with an output of 0.37 kW, intended for technologies where the drive must operate smoothly, without a sudden start and with good control over the operating pace. Rated supply 230/400 V at 50 Hz with Delta/Y connection makes integration into a standard industrial network easier. Rated current 2.43 A at 230 V and 1.4 A at 400 V helps with the design of protection and switching without unnecessarily complicating the project. This model has rated speed of 675 rpm, and is therefore aimed at applications where the mechanical system do not need a fast run, but a calm, regular and clearly controlled movement. Such properties are welcome in material dosing, slower product feed, mixing lighter blends, circulating pumps, smaller fans, sorting tables, rotary packaging modules and auxiliary drives for production lines.
What the 8-pole design means in practice
With a motor with eight poles, the main topic is not high speed, but the working rhythm. Rated speed of 675 rpm gives the drive a character that suits applications where it is necessary to maintain a stable run without nervous mechanical response. In operation, this has a concrete meaning. Material can be conveyed more evenly, the worktable rotates more calmly, the dosing element behaves more predictably and the fan or pump can work in a steady mode without unnecessary jumps. This is important, for example, in filling equipment, conveyors for piece goods, lighter mixers, drying sections with air flow, sliding assemblies of packaging lines or smaller technological circuits where a regular duty cycle is expected throughout the shift.
The ratio of starting torque to rated torque of 1.9 gives the motor the necessary confidence at start-up. The ratio of breakdown torque of 1.8 indicates that the motor can maintain operation even with normal load fluctuations. The starting current ratio of 4.0 helps with the design of electrical protection and with estimating behaviour at switch-on. These data are especially important when the motor is installed in equipment with regular repetitive movement, with continuous dosing, with a lighter start of the conveying line or with a duty cycle where the machine starts up several times during the day. Insulation class F together with temperature rise B gives the motor a suitable thermal foundation for regular operation. Operating modes S1, S2, S3 and S4-S9 are available, so the motor can be used for continuous operation as well as for cyclical processes with intermittent load. Ambient temperature may reach up to +65 °C and use is intended up to an altitude of 1000 m. The service factor of 1.0 corresponds to standard industrial use, where stable performance is expected in a clearly defined duty mode.
Electrical installation is flexible. The motor is suitable for direct starting DOL, for operation with a frequency inverter and also with a soft starter. In some technologies this enables simple switching on without further intervention, while elsewhere it provides a gentler start or better adaptation of the operating pace. This variability is useful in automated lines, in equipment with alternating work steps, and also in machines where it is necessary to fine-tune the start-up with respect to the mechanical assembly.
Construction, mounting and practical installation
Shaft height 90 mm provides a good basis for installation into compact as well as more universal machine assemblies. This dimension is suitable where it is necessary to combine industrial design with reasonable space requirements. Stability of the rotating part is supported by 6205-2Z bearings on both the DE and NDE sides. Vibrations reach 2.8 mm/s in class A, which helps maintain smooth running after connection with a pulley, coupling or another transmission element. The direction of rotation is possible either way and balancing with a half-key supports correct mechanical connection in normal industrial practice. Rotor inertia of 0.0051 kg·m² contributes to the natural response of the drive during start-up and when changing operating condition.
The design includes cable glands 2-M25X1.5. During handling and storage, the packaging dimensions 355 × 210 × 270 mm and packaged weight 13 kg help. The bearing arrangement is prepared with No. 2 lithium-based grease.
