Two-pole electric motor 3LC-160L-2 offers an excellent balance between purchase price and energy savings and is designed for everyday duty in light and medium industry. The 18.5 kW output and rated speed of 2950 rpm provide reserve capacity for continuous operation on production lines, in OEM machines and in smaller technological units where stable running and reasonable operating costs are decisive.
2950 rpm for smooth operation of production and engineering assemblies
The rated speed of 2950 rpm allows direct use in applications that require fast acceleration and consistent power transmission. Typical applications include centrifugal pumps, industrial ventilation fans, conveyor belts, process-tank mixers, compressor units, packaging machines, cutting lines, textile machinery, calibration rollers, granulation equipment, drying units, auxiliary machine-tool drives and smaller eccentric presses. These applications also benefit from a three-phase electric motor that maintains stable operating conditions under repeated load.
Robust cast-iron frame for demanding installation and long-term stability
The robust cast-iron frame increases structural rigidity and helps limit vibration under load. Reinforced cast-iron bearing shields and reinforced cast-iron feet improve mounting strength in the machine frame, which is important during frequent starts, intermittent operation and in machinery where impacts from the working mechanism are transferred to the drive.
For integrators and equipment manufacturers, repeatable installation is also important. Cable glands 2-M40X1.5 simplify cable routing in switchboards and compact assemblies, while DE bearing 6309-2RZC3 and NDE bearing 6309-2RZC3 support longer service continuity when properly maintained. Rotor inertia of 0.072 kg/m² helps when designing drive starting conditions.
IE3 electric motor for lower energy consumption in normal operation
The IE3 electric motor uses IE3 efficiency class – Super High Efficiency, which in practice improves energy efficiency during continuous operation. An efficiency of 92.4% and a power factor of 0.89 give designers reliable values for drive sizing, particularly where long-term network loading and operating costs are monitored. Rated current of 32.5 A at △ 400V and 18.84 A at Y 690V enables straightforward integration into standard industrial electrical systems.
This IE3 electric motor is used in technologies where reliable performance is expected in both serial machines and individual assemblies. Thousands of industrial installations show that this design performs well in repeatedly changing operating cycles where stable mechanical coupling and reasonable electricity consumption are important.
Starting and breakdown characteristics for drive design
A starting torque ratio of 2 and breakdown torque ratio of 2.3 make it easier to predict drive behaviour during starting and load changes. A starting current ratio of 8.2 supports more accurate protection design and selection of starting components in assemblies where the electric motor is started repeatedly during a production shift. The 81 dB(A) noise level is important when positioning the motor in halls where the operator’s working environment is assessed.
Packaging dimensions of 822*407*566 mm and a packaging weight of 156 kg help with logistics, storage and handling at the installation site. If you need a motor for a specific production application, choose a solution that combines robust construction, energy efficiency and parameters suitable for standard industrial practice.
Accurate fit for OEM machines and smaller technological units
With an IEC frame size of 160 mm, the 3LC-160L-2 is suitable for OEM machines where interchangeability, service availability and compatibility with standard drive frames are important. From a designer’s perspective, it is a motor that integrates naturally into pumping equipment, conveyors, mixing equipment, packaging lines, cutting systems and machining assemblies without requiring non-standard changes to the machine design.
