Drive for technologies that need calm and steady operation
In many operations, high speed is not the deciding factor, but rather that movement is transmitted smoothly, without jerky reactions and with confidence throughout the entire shift. Electric motor 1AL-132S-8 with an output of 2.2 kW and rated speed of 710 rpm is designed precisely for this type of application. It is most useful in technologies where material is mixed, conveyed, metered, circulated or moved on evenly. It is therefore suitable for mixing equipment, belt conveyors, screw feeders, circulation pumps, fan sections, extraction units, sorting tables, filling lines, drying assemblies and slow-speed rotary working units. In such applications, it is important that the motor keeps pace with the technology and does not introduce an unnecessarily abrupt start.
It is the 8-pole design that gives this model an operating character that is well suited to places where the mechanical system need to work calmly and predictably. Speed of 710 rpm at a frequency of 50 Hz creates the basis for a stable working rhythm when pumping media, moving packaging and products, circulating air and regularly mixing the contents of tanks. The output of 2.2 kW provides a solid basis for operations where movement needs to be transmitted reliably and over the long term, not just briefly or intermittently. This electric motor therefore fits well into production and auxiliary equipment that runs repeatedly or continuously and requires balanced behaviour throughout the entire working cycle.
Starting and load in real working conditions
In a slower industrial drive, the way the motor behaves at start-up and during normal changes in resistance is of great importance. A starting torque ratio of 2.0 relative to rated torque means the motor has a good basis for a confident start. A pull-out torque ratio of 1.8 helps maintain operation when the load fluctuates, and a starting current ratio of 6.0 is important when selecting electrical protection and the starting method. In practice, this is significant, for example, for conveyors with regular starts, for pumps with a steady operating regime, for fans with a longer working cycle, or for mixers where the resistance of the medium can change depending on the phase of the process.
The motor is designed for parabolic or linear load curve, which expands its usability across a wide range of industrial tasks. From a control point of view, it is suitable for DOL, for operation with a frequency converter and with a soft starter. This makes it possible to choose a simple direct start for basic applications or a gentler start where the mechanical system and process require it. When dosing, filling, circulating, ventilating or achieving a stable material feed, both the start and the operation itself can be adapted to the specific technology.
Electrical data and durability for standard industry
Electric motor 1AL-132S-8 is designed for 230/400 V supply with Delta/Y connection. The rated current is 9.91 A at 230 V and 5.7 A at 400 V, which provides a clear basis for the design of protection devices, contactors and the overall wiring in the control cabinet. Also important in operation is the fact that the motor operates with insulation class F and temperature rise B, so it is ready for regular long-term use. The service factor of 1.0 corresponds to standard industrial use, and the modes S1, S2, S3 and S4-S9 allow it to be used in both continuous and cyclic operation.
Environmental resistance is supported by IP55 protection, which is important where dust, ambient moisture or normal industrial contaminants are present. IC411 cooling helps dissipate heat under standard load and increases reliability during longer operation. The application is intended for an ambient temperature of up to +65 °C and an altitude of up to 1000 m. The 1AL OPTIMAL series comprises proven VYBO Electric low-voltage motors with aluminium frames for a wide range of industrial applications.
Mechanical certainty and practical design
Shaft height of 132 mm predetermines this model for use in machines where the mechanical system already need a stronger base and stable mounting. 6308-2Z bearings on both the DE and NDE sides support smooth running, and a vibration velocity of 2.8 mm/s in class A help maintain a smoother mechanical performance after coupling with a pulley, coupling or other transmission element. The motor can rotate in either direction, and balancing with a half key corresponds to standard industrial requirements during installation. Rotor inertia of 0.0314 kg·m² supports a balanced response during start-up and when changing operating state.
The design includes cable glands 2-M32X1.5. During handling and logistics, the packaged weight of 45 kg and packaging dimensions of 500 × 290 × 340 mm are helpful. The bearing arrangement uses No. 2 lithium-based grease. Electric motor 1AL-132S-8 therefore represents a reliable industrial drive for technologies in which movement should be calm, power transmission balanced and operation stable from the first start-up through to long-term use.
